Scrap Gold Calculator
Estimate rings, chains, broken jewelry, and mixed-karat gold with multiple-item mode and dealer payout percentages.
What counts as scrap gold
Scrap gold can include broken chains, old rings, single earrings, dental gold, damaged jewelry, and mixed lots sold mainly for metal value.
Sort by karat first
Enter 10K, 14K, 18K, 21K, 22K, 23K, or 24K pieces separately so the calculator does not treat mixed jewelry as one purity.
Weigh carefully
Small weight differences matter. Use grams or pennyweight for small jewelry, and remember that stones or non-gold parts may be deducted by buyers.
Compare payout ranges
Use 100%, 90%, 80%, or 70% payout to compare the spot value with common buyer offer ranges.
Why offers vary
Buyers may deduct testing, refining, shipping, resale risk, and margin. A lower offer should be explainable.
