Gold Karat Calculator
Compare how karat purity changes the value of the same gold weight.
What karat means
Karat measures fine-gold content out of 24 parts. 24K is near pure gold, 18K is 75%, 14K is about 58.3%, and 10K is about 41.7%.
Purity matters
Higher karat means more fine gold in the same gross weight, so the same weight can have a different value depending on purity.
Common options
The calculator supports 8K, 9K, 10K, 14K, 18K, 21K, 22K, 23K, and 24K.
Why lower karat jewelry exists
Pure gold is soft, so jewelry often uses other metals for durability, color, and price. Lower karat gold can still be valuable.
Mixed jewelry
Use multiple-item mode when a scrap lot contains different karats so each piece keeps its own purity.
Resale value note
The calculator focuses on metal value. Brand, design, stones, rarity, and collectible demand can change resale value.
