A generic karat table often offers 23K at 95.8% or 24K at 99.9%. Thailand’s 96.5% standard sits between them. Using either ordinary option introduces an avoidable purity error, so this calculator includes a dedicated Thai gold 96.5% selection.

If a shop gives a total only, ask for its metal-price basis and workmanship separately. That lets you compare the contained gold without pretending skilled manufacturing has no value.
