What the live panel calculates
The estimate below takes the international XAU/USD spot midpoint, converts it into Nepalese rupees, applies a near-pure 24K ratio, and converts one tola to 11.6638 grams. It is designed to make the arithmetic visible, not to replace Nepal’s published local market rate.
Exchange timing alone can create differences. Nepal Rastra Bank publishes its own reference rates, while the public feed used by this calculator can update at a different time and commercial institutions may quote differently.
Tola versus 10 grams
FENEGOSIDA displays both units. A tola contains about 16.638% more mass than 10 grams, so the tola price should naturally be higher. Convert the units before interpreting that difference as a markup.
For a quick check, per-10-gram rate × 1.16638 gives the equivalent per-tola rate. Per-tola rate ÷ 1.16638 gives the equivalent per-10-gram rate.
Local quote checklist
Record date and time, purity, unit, net gold weight, published base rate, making charge, tax, stones, and buyback deductions. An invoice or offer missing those fields is hard to audit even when its total looks plausible.
