Overview
Gold Rate Today provides live precious-metal prices, calculators, charts, market news and an optional private portfolio. This policy explains what information the Android app handles, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Portfolio entries and app preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not operate an account system and do not receive a copy of those entries.
Information stored on your device
The app stores settings, selected currencies, saved portfolio entries and related preferences in private app storage. This information remains on the device unless you use Android backup or another device-level transfer feature. The Android build disables application backup, but device or operating-system behaviour may change outside our control.
You can remove local app information by deleting entries in the app, clearing the app’s storage in Android settings, or uninstalling the app.
Network requests and market content
The app connects to our price proxy and selected third-party market-data or news services to retrieve current prices, historical series and market headlines. Those services receive ordinary technical request information such as IP address, timestamp, requested URL, device/browser networking details and security logs. We use these connections to deliver requested content, prevent abuse and diagnose availability.
Values shown in the app are informational estimates and not financial advice, an appraisal or an offer to buy or sell metal.
Advertising and consent
The Android app uses Google Mobile Ads. Depending on your region, choices and device settings, Google and its partners may process advertising identifiers, approximate location inferred from IP address, app interactions, diagnostics and device information to deliver, measure and protect ads. Where required, the app requests consent or offers privacy choices before personalised advertising is used.
You can change advertising privacy choices when that option is presented, reset or delete the device advertising ID in Android settings, and manage Google advertising controls. Google’s own policies govern its processing: Google Privacy Policy.
Permissions
The app requests internet access so it can retrieve market information and advertising. It does not request access to contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, photos or files for its core features.
Retention, security and children
Local portfolio data remains until you delete it or remove the app. Service providers may retain limited network, advertising and security data under their own policies. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
The app is a general-audience finance utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through an account or submission feature.
Your choices and contact
You can stop all future app processing by uninstalling the app. For privacy questions or requests concerning data controlled directly by us, email support@goldcalculator.co. Requests about Google advertising data should also be directed through Google’s privacy controls.
We may update this policy when app features or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
